is a masters in psychology from an online univ less crediable? could i still get my docorate w that masters?
I was interested in getting my Masters in Psychology from an online univ. I am just a little worried that it's not accepted by employers or nationally by the psychology board so if I want to go on to get my doctorates degree it wouldn't be recognized. Help!

i think it would be better to get your masters degree at a credible university.

You are right, places like University of Phoenix, though accredited, don't have diplomas that carry much weight when looking for employment. Definitely less credible.

You don't need a masters to get a phd. But getting an online masters would not help your cause at all..

Great..You have Master's Degree in psychology then you should feel proud.I also wanted to do my major in psychology. But I couldn't. Anyways you should go for psychology. There are numerous options are available in psychology like therapy, human factors, and research. You should go for your specialized field in which you can use your expertise. You can also do some additional ceu courses of psychology for great remuneration. But It should be done from an accredited and authorised course provider.

I think I answered the other question too. After a BA it takes about 2 to 3 years to work through a Master's program. A doctoral degree takes about 4-5. If you are considering what you want to do after completing your undergraduate degree I recommend finding some professionals in your area with varying degrees, and see what their career is like so you can make an informed decision, rather than just relying on what takes the least amount of time.

It's 2 years for a Master's in psychology, counseling, social work, or Marriage and family therapy.

You'll have to graduate with honours or close to honours with good relationships with your professors to even be considered for a msters program. The programs can anywhere from six months to ten years. They usually take about two years, but that is usually only the case if you study full-time. Masters degrees involve courses, but not always. How long it takes depends on how long it takes you to defend a thesis successfully. The someone who told you that is right by the way. It is possible.

Youth counselors are needed on a routine basis at children's group homes and they pay pretty well. You may or may not actually do sit-down therapy, but you'll offer guidance and monitor behavior. Chemical Dependency Technician- They monitor clients, do intake chemical assessments, and offer support as needed. Customer Service jobs: Banks, Collection Agencies, etc.
