What are some good clinical psychology masters programs in California

What are some good clinical psychology masters programs in California?
I have a undergraduate degree in a different discipline though, so I would need to be allowed to take the requisite subjects as part of it.

Has anyone actually done one of these careers? Does it pay well and is it rewarding? Opinions please! :-)

Go to apa.org You can read info about I/O careers, including salary. You will make much more money with a graduate degree in I/O...most go on for their Ph.D. to obtain positions with corporations though. It is extremely rewarding. (retired IBM exec mgr/confidential labs/psychology professor)

I have my MLIS, and I absolutely love my job. I enjoy helping people find the information that they need. For me, it's the best job in the world. Unfortunately, librarian positions tend to (as a general rule - there are exceptions) be on the lower end of the pay scale. There is also a growing trend in many libraries to hire librarians as part time employees. You can check with a site like www.salary.com to see what librarian and I/O psychology positions are paying in your area. Good luck whatever you decide! Everyone should love what they do! :)

You won't be able to become one unless you have a masters. Having a bachelors does not prepare you for counselling etc. Those skills are taught in the masters.

The desire is good. But if you have that low of a GPA in your undergrad, you will be hard pressed to get into a good Maters school. No PhD program will look at anything less than a 3.5 and usually even then you are at the bottom of the list.

Forget psychoanalytical training; it's not offered in graduate programs, is largely passe', and of little if any use. Most doctoral programs will not have a terminal master's degree, and you certainly don't need a master's to enter a doctoral program. A MA in psychology in some states will allow you to becomes licensed as a mental health counselor, and thus to provide therapy. Other states, however, have no such license and you'd find work in a state facility and that's about it. Almost any state university will have a good master's in psychology, so do lots of private universities. If you can narrow down your interest, find out how's doing research in that area, and then find out where they teach, you might find some more specific direction.
