With forensic psychology you can help the government and / or your regional, state, or local forensic examiners. It is a very tight field and what I mean is that not many people in the world are forensic psychologists. There are not many job opportunities for this field but if you do find one, it may pack a high salary! A counseling major is the opposite. Not much with the government. With counseling I expect most jobs to be in schools or psycho-wards. Many people may have this degree so the demand may not be that high. Which means that the salary may not be that high. But a job in this field may be much easier to find that one with forensic psychology. In the end, it's your call. Good luck with the career you choose!
